Guylee Washington
In 2023, Guylee Washington obtained his Master’s in Public Administration with a Concentration in Public Policy from Valdosta State University. He received a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership with a Concentration in Human Resources (2020) from Valdosta State University. He also received his Associate of Applied Science degree in Railroad Systems Management (2017) from Coastal Pines Technical College. He graduated from the first class of Pierce County High School (1982).
Guylee joined the United States Army in the Delayed Entry Program in February 1982 as a Military Policeman and ended his term of service with an Honorable Discharge (February 1990). He is a proud military veteran, and he received numerous awards and medals.
Guylee worked for the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons (September 1990 to February 2014). He was in varying positions of responsibility and leadership and received many awards and commendations.
Guylee serves as the current AMVETS Department of Georgia Judge Advocate and Veterans Administration Volunteer Service representative for AMVETS in Georgia. He is a Lifetime Member of AMVETS (American Veterans) and Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
Memberships in multiple professional associations include the Coastal Pines Foundation Board of Directors, the National Technical Honor Society, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the Student Government Association, the National Society of Leadership and Success, the Society for Collegiate Leadership & Achievement, and the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society.
He is a native of Offerman, GA. His parents are Daniel and the late Betty Washington, who resided in Offerman, GA. Guylee has one sister, Paula, who resides in Jacksonville, FL. He has two daughters, Karita (43) and Jasmine (33), and he has five beautiful grandchildren: Azaniah, Braylon, Hollis, Harper, and Aubrie.
